Please provide a reason for referral with each specimen. The laboratory will not delay or reject testing if this information is not provided, but appropriate testing and interpretation may be compromised.

Specimen Type: Breast, Thyroid, Salivary, Lymph nodes, or other site where by specimen obtained by needle aspiration - Fresh Specimens
Specimen Type: typically, but not limited to breast core biopsies & lymph node excisions
All tissue types accepted
- unless otherwise noted, all specimens should be received in 10% buffered formalin
- tissue received for frozen sectioning should be submitted fresh following frozen sectioning protocol
- lymph nodes to be processed using “lymph node protocol” should be received in sterile gauze soaked in saline
