Dr. McNabb earned his Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of South Carolina, School of Medicine and he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of South Carolina. He also is a registered Medical Technologist and has an MBA from Embry Riddle University. Dr. McNabb retired as a Colonel in the Medical Service Corps after over 28 years in the United States Army and he was the Microbiology Consultant to the Office of the Surgeon General in Washington, DC. Dr. McNabb has worked in large and small clinical labs throughout the US Army, taught clinical microbiology at the United States Army Medical Center and School and the United States Military Academy and most recently led efforts to develop vaccines and diagnostic tests of interest to the military at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research.
Dr. McNabb has previously held academic appointments as Assistant Professor United States Military Academy, West Point, NY. Clinical Assistant Professor United States Army Medical Department Center and School in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. McNabb is a member of the American Society for Microbiology, the American Society for Clinical Pathology, the New York Academy of Sciences, The Society of Armed Forces Medical Laboratory Scientists, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Dr. McNabb and his wife, Rebecca, have been married for over 35 years and have two children, Catherine and Connor.
